Preschool Time

Well this year has already been a whirlwind.  Eddie has been in and out of the hospital for a month.  We finally figured what the problem is and we are controlling it by medicine.  We put Harrison on the waiting list for preschool and of course I get anxious and I start looking for somewhere else as a backup.  The LORD always knows what we need though.  I got a call from Desoto County Academy on 8/28, which is where we wanted him to go, and we got him registered on meet the teacher night.  It is hard to believe my little man is in school.  He likes it a lot but he has an issue with talking when he is not supposed to.  Eddie says he comes by it honest.  He has been in school for almost a month and we have not had any major issues.  I am starting to prepare for his 5th birthday :(.  I know some that is a baker and she is going to make him cookies in the shape of an "H".  I think we are just going to have a small family gathering with four-wheelers and dirt bikes.  We went to see the trains for the first time this year, because it has been so hot.  I watched as he climbed up the steps and it amazed me how much he has grown.  I can't wait to see what the rest of this school year has in store for us.

Time Keeps Flying By

I have not posted in while.  Time just seems to be moving so fast.  So far this year has been amazing.  In July, I was promoted to Office Manager.  I was so excited about this new position.  It took and still does take some getting used to.  In October, my sweet Harrison turned four years old.  When you have done Lighting McQueen and Thomas the Train how can you top that for a 4th birthday?  You load up the car and take a family road trip.  Harrison celebrated his 4th birthday in Orange Beach, AL.  He was so excited to play in the sand.  The weather was amazing and we were sad to leave.  We started out the trip by going to see Eddie's family in south Alabama.  We had a nice dinner and I got to meet everyone.  We woke up the next morning and had breakfast with Aunt Nell before heading to the beach.  It was a nice quiet drive.  We did not get to tour the U.S.S. Alabama but I have plans to do that next year.  We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in what they called a pool view room.  When we got to the room though, we had a beautiful view of the ocean.  We got settled in and headed to the beach.  We stayed for an hour and then we practically dragged Harrison back to the hotel so we could get some dinner.  He ate a little bit but whined to go back to the beach.  We stopped at the Pier on the way back and that made everything better.  We got to see (1) shark our first night. We had breakfast the next morning, then went to the Zoo.  Harrison got a octopus pancake for breakfast.  The Zoo was ok but I don't think we will go back.  After leaving the Zoo, we went back to the beach and stayed out there until lunch time.  We hunted sand dollars and unbroken shells.  Eddie walked out to the sandbar and Harrison went nuts.  He thought Daddy was going to get hurt.  Eddie took him out there with him (1) time and that was enough to make you scream.  He would walk up to the edge of the surf, jump and yell gittyball (cannonball).  We took Harrison to Lambert's in Foley on the eve of his birthday.  They announced his birthday over the speaker and he got a bunch of balloons.  For his birthday, he got another octopus pancake at breakfast along with a cupcake and a set of floats from the hotel.  For lunch, we ate at Lulu's and we got to sit by the canal to watch the boats.  He got a chocolate brownie with ice cream.  We spent the rest of the day at the beach until it got dark.  His request for dinner was McDonald's and since he was the birthday boy, we had McDonald's.   We made one last trip to the beach on the 3rd after breakfast and then we said goodbye.  We left Orange Beach and made our way to New Orleans.  Eddie just wanted to ride the interstate around to see the city.  What should have been a 45 minute ride took two hours.  We arrived in McComb, MS that night and ate at the Golden Corral.  We finished up our trip by stopping at Pawpaw and Granny's before heading back home.  We had a first great trip to the beach and we cannot wait to go back next year.  I told Harrison that we were going to the mountains next years.  His response was "Mom we can't go to the mountains, they don't have a beach."  I love that little fellow.

Changes

Not a whole going on right now.  Yeah right.  We are in the middle of potty training and Harrison is doing so well.  We have also started "school" at daycare and he is doing well there too.  I look at pictures from a few months ago and just sigh.  My little boy is getting so big right in front of my eyes.  I am so blessed to have him in my life.  His little laugh, his smile, and even his cry.  There is nothing that I would not do for that little boy.  As I think about the years to come, I get misty eyed at thoughts of preschool.  I never thought I would be able to go pick up my child from school, but those days will be here before I know it.  It is such a blessing to be Harrison's mother and I thank GOD for that everyday.

10th Anniversary

This year we celebrate our 10th anniversary.  I was so looking forward to a relaxing trip to the mountains in November, but we are not going to be able to go.  Eddie's car is broken and we have to purchase another one. I have started planning already for vacation next year in August so that we can spend a week in the mountains then.  I just need help coming up with some fun stuff to do at home this year for our anniversary.  All ideas are welcome.

Hurricane Elvis

My how time flies.  10 years ago today I was leaving for work not suspecting any bad weather was in Memphis.  I had finished breakfast but did not watch any tv.  I got to Collierville and it was raining pretty hard.  By the time I made it to the Houston Levee overpass I had to pull over.  The wind was so strong and it felt like I was going to get blown off the road.  I could not call Eddie and talk to him because he was in Wales. I finally made it to work and there were trees down everywhere.  The phone service was intermittent so I spoke with my grandparents when I could get a call through.  As I sit in my office today, I stare at the sky and watch the lightning wondering if we are going to have a repeat performance.  I know that GOD is in control and if the weather gets bad I know that he will protect me.  I hope everyone in Memphis and the surrounding areas stay safe today.  Don't get caught out in this weather.  Have a blessed day.

Time for a change

It has been a while since I posted but it has been a little crazy.  I have big news.  I now work for Dan Walker Associates, Inc in Memphis, TN.  It is a wonderful job and it is so much fun too.  I know that a lot of people thought that I would never leave Car Wash Superstore.  My answer has been "It was time for a change."  It may be a little farther to drive but I can honestly say that I have been blessed.  My home life has changed drastically because my nerves are not shot.  I really appreciate my friend recommending me for this position.  Not going to mention any names because you know who you are.

Vacation Photos

Well here are the few pictures that were taken while we were on vacation.  As I said in my earlier post we took my video than pictures.  Harrison seemed to enjoy himself and was so good the entire trip.  I cannot wait until next year when we go back to the mountains.
